Education that gives the possibility to all young people and adults to prepare to raise their quality of life, taking into account their needs, motivations and interests that allow them to access a conscious education.
It is the education subsystem that gives all young people and adults the opportunity to prepare to raise their quality of life, taking into account their needs, motivations and interests that allow them to access a conscious education.
The Youth and Adult Education, like the rest of the educations, has Social Functions that in this case respond to the characteristics of young people and adults. Since its inception in our country, this subsystem has been based on principles that respond to Cuban educational policy.
MISSION
Contribute to the young and adult population in general reaching a comprehensive culture that prepares them for life in correspondence with the updating of the economic and social model of the country, coordinated with organizations, mass organizations and institutions of society.
End of subsystem
Contribute so that the young and adult population in general from the different sectors of society receive the necessary knowledge base and develop habits and skills that allow them to train and advance professionally in formal, non-formal and informal education that meets their needs. Cognitive interests, spiritual and material needs, essential components in personal formation for an active participation in the political, economic and social development of the country.
The EDJA is structured as follows:
• Peasant Workers Education (EOC) constitutes elementary education for adults and provides its graduates with a school level essentially equivalent to the sixth grade. It has a preparatory character for the continuation of studies in Secondary Workers and Peasants RM203 / 12
• Secundaria Obrera y Campesina (SOC) is basic secondary education for adults. It provides its graduates with a school level essentially equivalent to the ninth grade. It lays the foundations for the continuation of studies in the Faculty of Workers and Peasants, in polytechnic centers and training courses for the organizations. RM203 / 12
• Facultad Obrera y Campesina (FOC) constitutes the upper secondary level for adults. It provides its graduates with a school level essentially equivalent to twelfth grade. It offers the broadest preparation of the adult for his life and a basis for his technical qualification and for entry to higher education according to the established requirements. RM203 / 12
• Language Schools (EI) provides the knowledge and skills necessary for the practical use of a foreign language in order to communicate orally and obtain information by reading the bibliography published in that language RM75 / 14
The new projections of the work of Adult Education have required a systematic work of research-action-participation, to support and project the development of coping strategies with institutional and non-institutional programs that harmonize the needs and expectations of youth and adults. with those of the country, and allow putting into practice new educational alternatives in rural and urban communities.
